Introduction
I began working seriously on the family genealogy in 1994. I have built on the work of my mother and my wife's aunt, who had already done considerable work on the families of my wife and myself. I have now extended the database to some 13,000 individuals. Most of the work is not original, I have added to the work of others. Of course, the results are only as good as the sources. Genealogy is the victim of much 'Garbage in, garbage out.'
Surnames on this website include Hope, Miles, Graham, Shellady (Shillideay), Smith (the genealogists' nightmare), Wisely, Tomlinson, McLean (or McLain, McLaine), McCullen, Snead, Henley, McReynolds, Patton,, Bell, Taylor, Brickell, Kernberger, Willwerth, Bartlett, Hengel, Fisher, Ludowissi (Ludovici), O'Leary (Leary), Hurley, Merriman, Bowen, Quick, Richey, Finley, Ledbetter, Gordon, Whiteman (originally Weidmann), Van Vleet (Van Vliet, Van Fleet), Bartoo (or Barto, originally Barteau), Barnes, Swarthout (or Swartout, Swartwout, possibly Blackwood), Ketchum (Ketcham), Osterhout (perhaps Eastwood), Thorp (Thorpe), Wheeler, Hastings, Burt, Swaar, Bennett, McCreigh (McCray, McCrea), Smith (again!), Gray , Davis, Sherwood, Hodge, Beard (or Baird), Hand, Curtin (or Curtain), Murphy, Martin and Disbrow (or Disbro).
I have substantial information on these families and those who married into them.

Important Note I have started with the sixth generation from Lowell. The other generations will be added as time permits. Look at the Sixth Generation. I have now added the first part of the Seventh Generation.
I have recently participated in a DNA project on the Hope male line. Results are at http://www.hopednaproj.com/
I am happy to exchange information with other researchers. I have kept the information on living individuals out of this file for privacy reasons.
